well I just built a new computer, with radom parts laying around... well not completly radom, well any way, no sound/ mic, so I thought obviosly sound driver needed

Well, according to ECS, your board has Realtek sound, not VIA. And with Realtek, they will always recommend that you download the correct driver for your board from the board maker's website.

You can get the latest driver direct from Realtek, tho.
