viavista is on a distinguished road
Default 1394a card not detected vista?



ieee 1394a card, attempting to plug into first available pci slot it was tight so plugged into lower slot turned on pc
did not detect any new hardware
tryed the camera in anyway but nothing
can anyone help my pc see the card? camera?

running vista home premium 32 bit

Is this a new card? Did it come with a driver disk? Make sure it is fully inserted into the PCI slot (you should not see any of the copper contacts showing) Go to Windows Update and make sure you have all the updates. There are no 1394 drivers on this site.

Adding on Chris advise, do you have the service pack install for vista? Try running windows update as what Chris mention. And when you mention is not detected, i assume it wasn't detected in device manager as well?

Also ensure firewire is enable in bios
