Default Is there a usb 2.0 driver for vista?

I'm trying to snyc my G1 and my pc apparently does not have usb 2.0. I've spent some time searching for it and can not find it for vista. I'm running a VIA 1.2ghz.

Yes Vista has both USB 2.0 and USB1.1 drivers built in so you may not have USB2.0 hardware.

Can you list the make and model of the motherboard and I will check for you.

Hello,

Well, I'm glad I'm not alone with this problem. I have several USB enclosures storing a variety of data that work fine under winXP but prompt me for drivers in Vista.I was begining to think the problem was specific to my notebook but since putting Vista on my desktop, i have the same issue. Guess we wait for a service pack..Although, it boggles my mind to contemplate that Vista doesn't recognize a USB device like a hard drive...Thanks

well vista has the advance drivers than windows. its inbuilt with SATA driver.
It is capable to boot in AHCI mode but windows Xp can't.
Is your device working with windows XP, check this on other system running windows XP.

XP, Vista and Win 7 all have the USB drivers built into Windows. Your board may not have USB 2.0 hardware, then you will need an add in 2.0 card. If you cannot boot from USB, then it's possible the board doesn't have that option in BIOS. Every board is different.
