Hi everyone.
Thanks to this thread I was able to update my audio drivers for my VIA chip (VT1708b), which I didnīt have any problem to begin with.
I was using the version 7600 since itīs the latest version available in the asus website for my motherboard.
First I tried, off course, the latest version (10100) but I faced 2 problems: 1st the audio deck only let me enable 6 channels, not a real issue to me since I use a z5500 system that is only 5.1; the other was a problem with the volume, the center speaker was too loud and the sub too low.
Note that I always have max volume on the pc and just use the speaker fill function on the audio deck, for room correction and volume control I use the speekerīs panel.
Since that I was trying other versions and found that the version 9600 is the best one.
I can enable 8 channels and the volume from the center speaker is correct. The sub is still a bit low but I raised it a bit on the panel and now is perfect.
Music sounds great, specially flac tracks, even better that my original 7600 version.
I need to test games now, maybe Ill start with Battlefield 3 which sounds great in surround, and Ill post feedback later.
Thanks again for this thread.
