Default EPIA M700, long beep at startup, no video output

Hello,

Recently I've bought a bad (according to a seller; described as giving no video output; he reportedly bought it as good one from other guy, but it wasn't working for him from the start) EPIA M700-10E on some auction. I'm not sure whether seller was a tech-savvy guy, so I though I may take a risk and buy it.

I've received it yesterday and bought (recommended by Mr. Chris) new memory: Kingston KVR667D2N5/2G, that is officially compatible with this board. I've connected power cord after installing memory but nothing happened beside sys fan activation. Later I noticed that power button and leds were improperly connected, so after fixing it I could at least turn it off using the front panel button.

I've looked through the electronic garbage in house and found some speaker, so I've connected it to get a dummy buzzer. Now upon starting I hear a long beep (~9secs) that is followed by 5 secs silence after which the sound repeats and so on.

According to Bios Beep Codes long beep in AWARD bios may inform about bad/incompatible memory or some other mobo problem. I've plugged also Velocity 128 into PCI to test whether anything will change, but no, still no video output. Clearing CMOS didn't change it either.

Power supply looks fine. I believe that new memory is fine too, but don't have other stuff to test it.

Without memory, I don't hear any beeps, but it may be a standard behavior in such case, so I'm not sure whether it's meaningful or not.

Any ideas or suggestions from current or past EPIA M700 users?

Thanks in advance.

One long beep at boot is no video card or bad video. Sounds like the onboard video is bad. If the board has a PCI slot, you can try a PCI video card.

I didn't have much time to tackle with it, but I tried using some PCI video cards back then. IIRC they were: Trio64, Virge and Riva128. It didn't change anything, unfortunately.
